Construction programme for Dambadeniya Wijayasundararamaya Museum and refurbishment programme for Buduruwagala Museums

More than two hundred thousand unidentified archaeological sites are still remained in Sri Lanka. In future, all the museum objects, which were found in excavations, are to be expected to demonstrate in regional museums.

The Department of Archaeology has maintained a major museum in Anuradhapura, the ancient capital city and 18 other site museums in island wide to exhibit the archaeological findings as well as other cultural properties, in addition to the Colombo museum operated by the Department of Museum.
